ROOM CHANGE:

Due to Hurricane Gustav, LSU will be using the Geology room reserved for the Baton Rouge seminar on September 20 for make up classes.  Click on the Baton Rouge link in the table below for the new location.

LSUHSC Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences is approved as a Provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the Clinical Laboratory Personnel Committee of the Louisiana State Board of Medial Examiners.

LSUHSC Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences is providing the 2008 continuing education seminars for licensed personnel sponsored by the Clinical Laboratory Personnel Committee (CLPC).  The Distance Learning Seminar is co-sponsored by North Louisiana AHEC and LSUHSC Telemedicine. These seminars are offered free only for individuals who hold a current Louisiana license.

If  you  are  not  in  possession  of  your  current  wallet  card  license or are unsure if your license is current, your may check your licensure status on-line. Go to the LSBME website at http://www.lsbme.louisiana.gov/ and select the “verification” option which will allow you to download and print the verification.

Changes for 2008
•A postcard reminder was sent out prior to the Spring 2008 seminars.  The link for the Fall seminars will be the same as the Spring.  Please bookmark the website in your favorite list and continue to check it for information. Seminar dates and topics will be posted as they become available.

Pre-registration is no longer required EXCEPT for Distance Learning Seminars because the seating is limited at most distance learning sites. For all other seminars, you must present your licensure card and a photo ID to be allowed to attend any of the seminars.  No exceptions.

Handouts will NOT be available the day of the seminar. They will be posted online a week before the seminar. If you want handouts for use during the seminar, you can print them out and bring them with you.  You will need to download the FREE Adobe Reader program in order to do so. Go to http://www.adobe.com/ and click on the Get Adobe Reader icon.

• Instead of alternating between Lafayette and Lake Charles, the Fall seminar will be held in Jennings at the Holiday Inn. With this location between the two cities, we hope it will be convenient for individuals from both cities to attend the Spring and Fall seminars.

The CLPC Seminars are scheduled on Saturdays except for the Distance Learning which will be scheduled on a weekday.
