Committees 2008-2009
School committee membership
and charges for the academic year 2008-09 follow. As noted, some
committees serve the entire school and some committees function
campus-specific, hence the specific membership. Appointments to
committees and discussions with the President of the Faculty Assembly of the
School are made following nominations from department heads. Committee
charges are defined in an appendix of the Faculty Assembly’s Bylaws.
Appointed committee chairs
will call, schedule days and times for meetings based on member availability
and work to be accomplished. At the first meeting, the committee
should review its charge and plan for activities to accomplish this charge
over this coming year.
The role of each committee
member is to both represent his/her department and participate in
activities/decisions on behalf of the School. Consequently, it is
important that committee members regularly share with faculty in their
departments the deliberations of the committee and solicit departmental
input to inform committee decisions.
