Department of Occupational Therapy The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans offers a MASTER OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (MOT) degree program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) for the10 year period from academic year 2002-2003 to 2012-2013. Completion of the Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program prepares a graduate to practice occupational therapy. Twenty-seven months are needed to complete a total of 90 semester hours of coursework on-campus at the Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and off-campus at practice sites within and out of the state. Included in these semester hours are six months of full-time fieldwork. Occupational Therapy is a health and rehabilitation profession that helps people regain, develop, and build skills that are important for independent functioning. Occupational therapy enables people to do the day-to-day activities that are important to them despite impairments, activity limitations, or participation restrictions. Occupations are another name for these day-to-day activities. The Occupational Therapy Department address is:

Information Sessions
Information Sessions for individuals interested in applying for admission to the Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program are held on the First Friday of Each Month at 2:00 p.m. here in the OT Department in New Orleans. Those interested are asked to contact the OT Department to let them know that they are planning on coming. Please see location and contact information above.
