Prior to her teaching assignment at LSU, Mrs. Jacobs was the manager of the out-patient and rehabilitation departments at Charity Hospital, New Orleans, LA.  Her 12 years of clinical experiences were in the areas of orthopedics and rehabilitation.  She successfully passed the Certified Hand Therapist exam in 2000. Throughout her career in OT, she has been interested in maximizing occupational performance in her clients through functional rehabilitation. 

Mrs. Jacobs has served on the advisory committee for the occupational therapy assistant program at Delgado Community College since it conception. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Louisiana Occupational Therapy Association, and the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society.

She is currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Anatomy at LSUHSC.
