Admission Requirements

Admission to the Entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy program is on a competitive basis and preference is given to Louisiana residents. In order to be considered for admission, the applicant
must:

Complete at least 60 clock hours of practical experience in physical therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist BY THE TIME OF APPLICATION. Additional hours and experience are recommended.

Hold a baccalaureate degree from a fully regionally or nationally accredited college or university by the date of expected matriculation into the Department of Physical Therapy.

Submit scores from the verbal, quantitative and analytical writing assessment portions of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
Applicants must achieve a minimum cumulative score of 900 on the verbal and
quantitative portions of the GRE to be considered for admission.

Have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above in all undergraduate
math and science courses. However, the grade trend of the applicant will be considered.

Satisfactorily complete (grade C or better) all prerequisite courses prior to the Summer term for which the student is applying.
