Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic

The LSUHSC Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic offers physical therapy services for the rehabilitation of patients with a variety of injuries or illnesses. Our therapists aim to decrease pain and restore function to the highest possible level.

Services include:

Orthopedics: post operative patients, persons with injuries or dysfunctions related to the spine and extremities, deconditioning, sports injuries, arthritic and other degenerative changes, etc.

Neurological: stroke, head injury, and illness due to diabetes and polymyopathies, fall assessments and general deconditioning.

Women's Health: urinary stress and urge incontinence, pelvic floor pain and dysfunction, osteoporosis and postoperative services for breast cancer and other female oncology.

Oncological Health: oncology postoperative and post radiation conditions.

Other services: biomechanical evaluations, shoe wear, orthotic prescriptions, wheelchair and equipment needs.

Wellness services: Please watch the website for wellness activities which will be offered soon. PT services are also available for consultation and coordination with the other disciplines in Allied Health, as well as, equipment specialists and orthotic/prosthetic professionals.

 

Clinic Staff:

The clinic is staffed with licensed Physical Therapists who are academic and clinical faculty with a variety of postgraduate studies, certifications and specializations. Each clinician has varying amounts of responsibilities to the academic program, research and community participation.

Therapy

The Patient:

All patients must have a Physician (MD), Dental, Podiatric or Nurse Practitioner referral to receive services. All clients will receive a wide-ranging evaluation and treatment program designed specifically for their individual needs.

Hours of Operation:

The general hours of the clinic are 7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. There are exceptions to time depending upon each faculty member's schedule. All attempts will be made to accommodate each perspective clients' needs.

Insurances Accepted:

The LSUHSC Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic accepts most insurances, including Medicare, Medicaid and Workers Compensation. We are also providers with:

The clinic is located on the 7th floor of the Allied Health and Nursing Building, 1900 Gravier St., New Orleans, LA 70112. Parking is available across the street on the first floor of the South Roman Parking garage for a fee. Appointments can be made by calling the clinic at 568-4042.
