Dr. Tamara Gravano

Tamara Gravano, PT, DPT, GCS

Assistant Professor

Dr. Gravano received her B.H.S. in Health Sciences and an M.S.P.T. in Physical Therapy both from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

After graduation, she then enrolled as one of the first two residents in the Residency Program in Geriatric Physical Therapy at St. Catherine’s Rehabilitation Hospital in Miami, Florida. It was during this time Dr. Gravano returned to the University of Miami for the Transitional DPT and received her degree in 2003. After earning Board Certification in Geriatric Physical Therapy, Dr. Gravano remained in Miami as a Senior Physical Therapist and Coordinator of the Geriatric Residency Program.  

Dr. Gravano joined the faculty at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in July of 2008. Her teaching responsibilities include Prevention, Nutrition, and Wellness, and Practicum in Integrative Clinical Practice. She also instructs in Evidence-Based Practice I and II and provides guest lectures on the topic of Geriatrics in various courses. Dr. Gravano is a member of the Editorial Board for Today in PT magazine and a member of the Specialty Council in Geriatrics for the American Physical Therapy Association.
