a dynamic health profession, which utilizes
both scientific knowledge and evidence based clinical expertise
Want to make a difference in the quality of
people's lives?? Then, Physical Therapy is the profession for
you! We make a positive impact on our patients’ lives!
Physical therapy is a very rewarding and
challenging career.
We are involved directly with patient
examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and intervention as well as
prevention and patient and family education. We help patients
reach their MAXIMUM level of physical potential as well as
helping to reduce, if not eliminate, pain. We provide care for
patients who have a wide variety of physical dysfunctions (due
to accident, disease, disability, developmental delay, etc.) to
establish, restore, maintain, enhance, and promote their health
and wellness.
Physical therapists work in a wide variety of
patient care settings, e.g., acute care hospitals, private P.T.
offices, rehabilitation centers, sports medicine facilities,
nursing homes, extended care facilities, schools, early
intervention programs, community health centers, research
centers, wellness centers, industrial sites, as well as in
patients’ homes and with hospice.
