The Department's program in respiratory therapy is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). The program holds 10-yr accreditation through July 31, 2031. Our CoARC program reference number is 200251. The polysomnography component of the curriculum is not accredited.

CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based' process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.

The Department's program in adult cardiac sonography is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology. The program in noninvasive vascular study is not accredited. Graduates who attain the RDCS credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) are immediately eligible to take the registered vascular technologist (RVT) exam offered by ARDMS.
