STARTING JANUARY 2009 - Students entering the
Occupational Therapy program must own a laptop as part of the equipment
required for classes. As the Occupational Therapy curriculum advances
into the future, technology requirements continue to grow. The
curriculum includes computer-based learning materials and exams. The
School of Allied Health Professions has made an arrangement for all incoming
Occupational Therapy students to have a laptop to be used throughout the
curriculum. The laptop will be purchased through LSUHSC and the charge
will be added to the student's fee bill at registration, so it can be
included in financial aid requests. Benefits of this plan include
laptops with preloaded educational and application software and loaner
equipment if your laptop becomes inoperable. The Occupational Therapy
department will be following the Physical Therapy department, the School of
Medicine, School of Dentistry and the CRNA program in this endeavor.
