PA Program Goals

The Mission of the LSUHSC-New Orleans Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program is to recruit and educate individuals of the highest quality from diverse backgrounds to provide evidence-based, patient-centered healthcare with compassion to the people of Louisiana.

LSUHSC-New Orleans Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program Vision Statement

The LSUHSC-NO Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program will be a leader in the education of competent, compassionate, health care providers providing access to care for the people of Louisiana.

Program Goals

  1. Recruit highly qualified applicants for enrollment as students in the LSUHSC-NO program

             Measured by: applicant demographics and prerequisite data submitted through CASPA

  1. Obtain accreditation- continuing status, develop and maintain a standard of excellence for the program.

             Measured by: achievement and maintenance of accreditation - continuing per ARC-PA

  1. Develop and maintain a curriculum that promotes a 90% or better graduation rate for students entering the LSUHSC-NO PA Program.

             Measured by: graduation rate per cohort            

  1. Develop and maintain a curriculum that produces a PANCE first-time pass rate above the national average.

             Measured by: assessment of first time PANCE rates against national data
