My current research focuses on 3 connected lines of research: 1. Developing objective measurement of implicit and explicit prosody use and reading fluency and examining their relationships to comprehension through use of multiple paradigms including acoustical characterization & eye-tracking in both neurologically healthy adults and persons with acquired neurogenic communication disorders; 2. Characterization of normative prosodic and fluency patterns in neurologically healthy adults; and 3. Examining cognitive mechanisms, particularly attention and memory, that shape reading fluency and comprehension.
