About the Department
Established in 2012, the LSUHSC-NO Department of Physician Assistant Studies is a graduate program within the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Allied Health Professions. The department is located in New Orleans, Louisiana.
With a focus on primary care, the LSUHSC-NO PA awards a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree following 29 months of intensive academic and clinical training. Of the 29 months, the 17-month academic phase is conducted in New Orleans with state-of-the-art training equipment and facilities. The 12 month clinical experience is conducted at a variety of sites throughout Louisiana.

The Mission of the LSUHSC-New Orleans Master of Physician Assistant Studies Department is to recruit and educate individuals of the highest quality from diverse backgrounds to provide evidence-based, patient-centered healthcare to the people of Louisiana.
