Ngozi Akotaobi received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Loma Linda University in 2009. She became a Certified Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) in 2016, completed NAIOMT's clinical fellowship program in orthopedic manual therapy in January 2017, and was accepted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists in February 2017.
Dr. Akotaobi has practiced in a variety of settings, with a focus on outpatient orthopedics. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Akotaobi has served as a Site Coordinator for Clinical Education, clinical fellowship instructor for fellows in training, and clinical instructor for DPT students. Prior to joining the faulty at LSUHSC, Dr. Akotaobi spent several years as adjunct faculty for a hybrid DPT program. In addition, she has served as an adjunct faculty instructor for post-professional orthopedic manual therapy courses.
Dr. Akotaobi joined the faculty at LSUHSC in November 2022 and has teaching responsibilities in Diagnosis and Management of Musculoskeletal Dysfunction, Movement Sciences, and Professional Practice. Her research interests in general include orthopedic manual therapy, belonging and motivation as it relates to DPT student success and social determinants of health.
