Student Ambassador Program
Purpose
The purpose of the Louisiana State University Health New Orleans, School of Allied Health Professions (SAHP) Student Ambassador Program is to designate official student representatives of the School of Allied Health Professions.
Student Ambassadors are exceptional student leaders who represent the School of Allied Health Professions and work with faculty and administration to promote the mission, vision, and values of SAHP. Ambassadors serve as representatives of Allied Health by engaging with prospective students, current students, alumni, community partners, and other stakeholders through recruitment initiatives, student engagement activities, community service, and alumni involvement.
SAHP Student Ambassadors are role models within the School of Allied Health Professions who demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication, a positive attitude, strong leadership qualities, professionalism, and commitment to the SAHP community.

Eligibility Criteria
Each SAHP Student Ambassador must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be currently enrolled in a School of Allied Health Professions program at LSU Health New Orleans.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism, and leadership qualities.

Demonstrate commitment to representing the mission and values of the School of Allied Health Professions
Ambassador Responsibilities and Duties
SAHP Student Ambassadors are expected to:
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA while serving as a Student Ambassador.
- Attend Student Ambassador meetings and required program activities.
- Represent the School of Allied Health Professions at recruitment events, alumni events, and other SAHP-related activities.
- Participate in a minimum of four (4) SAHP Student Ambassador events or activities annually while serving as an Ambassador.
- Remain in good academic and ethical/professional standing within their respective School of Allied Health Professions program.
Application & Selection Process
Students interested in becoming an SAHP Student Ambassador may submit a completed application and all required materials at any time throughout the year. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed as they are received.
The SAHP Student Ambassador Committee will review all completed applications.
The following materials must be submitted:
- SAHP Student Ambassador Application with one letter of recommendation from a faculty member

- Recognition at the SAHP commencement awards ceremony, including a Student Ambassador recognition cord.
- Opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and professional skills.
- Experience representing Allied Health programs at recruitment, alumni, and community events.
- Opportunities to connect with faculty, administration, alumni, prospective students, and community partners.
- Opportunities to participate in student engagement and outreach initiatives.
Expected Outcomes
The expected outcomes of the LSU Health New Orleans School of Allied Health Professions Student Ambassador Program are:
- Portray a positive image of the School of Allied Health Professions.
- Increase student engagement and interaction with faculty, administration, and the SAHP community.
- Provide diverse representation of Allied Health programs within the community and serve as representatives of the School of Allied Health Professions.
- Increase participation in School of Allied Health Professions and partner community-related events.
- Support recruitment initiatives and increase awareness of Allied Health professions.
