The School of Allied Health Professions (SAHP) at LSU Health New Orleans is
committed to educating and empowering the future healthcare workforce by
leading advancements in education, research and scholarship, clinical

The Programs We Offer
The LSU Health New Orleans School of Allied Health Professions offers
undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs designed to
prepare students for rewarding careers in today's evolving healthcare
landscape.

- Medical Laboratory Science — Bachelor of Science (BS)
- Speech-Language Pathology — Master of Communication Disorders
(MCD) - Counseling — Master of Health Sciences (MHS)
- Occupational Therapy — Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT)
- Physician Assistant Studies — Master of Physician Assistant Studies

Through rigorous coursework, clinical education, research, and experiential
learning, students develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professional
competencies needed to provide exceptional patient care and become
leaders in their chosen healthcare professions.

In addition to our degree programs, the School of Allied Health Professions
offers educational pathways that support students at every stage of their
academic and professional journey.
Allied Health Transfer Pathway Programs
Our Transfer Pathway Programs provide students with a seamless path to
selected Allied Health degree programs. Students complete prerequisite
coursework at a participating college or university before transferring to LSU
Health New Orleans for the professional phase of their education.

Counseling Certificate Programs
The Counseling Program also offers five post-baccalaureate and post
master's certificate programs for current counseling students and counseling
professionals seeking advanced training in specialized practice areas.
- Clinical Mental Health Counseling Certificate
- Rehabilitation Counseling Certificate
- Marriage & Family Counseling Certificate
- School Counseling Certificate
- Play Therapy Certificate
These non-degree certificate programs provide advanced education in
specialized areas of counseling. Upon successful completion, participants
may pursue credentialing through the appropriate professional board or
certifying organization.
