Dr. Katherine Atiyeh is a Baton Rouge native and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University in 2009. She went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Louisiana State University Health and Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA in 2013.
Following graduation, Dr. Atiyeh practiced in a variety of hospital-based settings in the New Orleans region including general outpatient and acute care physical therapy. She has over 9 years clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics and is a Board- Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. She also holds certifications in Functional Dry Needling and Personalized Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation. She has served as adjunct faculty at LSU Health Sciences Center teaching lab-based curriculum and has presented continuing education courses on the rehabilitation of the lumbar spine, hip, knee, and ankle joints.
Dr. Atiyeh joined the faculty at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in January 2023. Her teaching responsibilities include Diagnosis and Management in Musculoskeletal Dysfunction, Evidence Based Practice II, Movement Sciences I, and Therapeutic Interventions.
