Mattie Pontiff, PT, DPT, OCS

Dr. Pontiff received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2008 from Louisiana State University.  She then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011 from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA.  

Following graduation, Dr. Pontiff worked in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine at Ochsner Health System.  After one year of employment, she accepted a position in an orthopedic residency program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH.  In her time at Ohio State, Dr. Pontiff lectured and assisted with musculoskeletal labs in the physical therapy program.  In addition, she participated in research on post-operative outcomes following hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement and presented her results nationally at  APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting  in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Following completion of the orthopedic residency program, Dr. Pontiff returned to New Orleans and accepted a full time position with Ochsner Health System in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine.  She became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2014.  Upon her return to New Orleans, Dr. Pontiff also served as Adjunct Faculty at LSUHSC- NO, assisting with lectures and lab based curriculum in Diagnosis and Management in Musculoskeletal Dysfunction I & II, Movement Science I and Foundational Science of Movement.   

Dr. Pontiff jointed the faculty at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in January 2016.  Her teaching responsibilities include Diagnosis and Management of Musculoskeletal Dysfunction I & II, Movement Science I, Evidence Based PT II and Foundational Science of Movement.
